Gabe always idolized his father, Wilson Middle School cross country coach Matt Perkins. So a 5k road race is the perfect fundraiser to honor the Perkins family legacy.

Our race traditionally begins at Gabe's elementary school, Jane Addams, and is a flat-and-fast course with multiple water stops that loops through the Black Hawk College campus. Our postrace party includes snacks, drinks, awards, and has been visited in the past by some out-of-this-world guests!
Our thanks to the local members of the 501st Legion, a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who have made appearances at our post-race party since 2017. Gabe was a huge Star Wars fan, and your presence is truly a gift!
